WESCO Gas & Welding Supply Inc. was founded in 1961 in Prichard, Alabama. In 1966, Ron Pierce joined the company as a registered Professional Engineer. In 1974, with the support of his family, he became President and CEO. He laid the groundwork for what would become one of the Gulf Coast’s leading independent distributors of welding supplies, industrial equipment, and industrial, medical and specialty gases.  Through strong relationships, industrial expertise, and an unwavering work ethic, Ron built more than a company- he built a lasting family legacy.

As WESCO grew, leadership naturally expanded within the Pierce family, Jenny McCall stepped into the role of President years ago, leading daily operations and strategic growth while working closely alongside her father.  Ron later served as Chairman of the Board, continuing to provide guidance and vision for the company he help build.

Today, multiple family members remain actively involved in leadership and operations, and the third generation is now a part of the business – ensuring that the company’s values and commitment to customers continue well into the future.
